Why EEXM

We Shop Every Supplier. You Get the Lowest Rate.

Sites like SaveOnEnergy and ChooseEnergy show you a limited set of plans and earn a commission — typically 0.5 to 2 cents per kilowatt-hour — on every plan they promote. That commission is embedded in the rate you see.

EEXM shops all licensed suppliers in your market simultaneously and identifies the lowest available rate on your behalf. Full stop.

Common Questions

Everything You Need to Know

Will my electricity service be interrupted when I switch?
No. Your local utility continues to deliver electricity through the same wires and infrastructure. Only the supply portion of your bill changes. The switch happens at the billing level — your lights, appliances, and service are completely unaffected.
How is EEXM different from sites like SaveOnEnergy?
SaveOnEnergy and similar sites earn a per-kWh commission from the suppliers they promote, which is built into the rate you see. EEXM is an independent energy consultant that shops all available licensed suppliers in your market — not a preferred shortlist — and identifies the lowest rate available. Our compensation structure is fully disclosed before you enroll.
What does "supply charge" mean on my bill?
Your electricity bill has two main components: supply (the cost of the energy itself, which you can shop) and delivery (the poles, wires, and meters, which is set by your utility and cannot be shopped). EEXM's rates replace only the supply charge. Delivery charges remain with your utility.
Is there a cancellation fee if I switch back to my utility?
Early termination fees vary by plan and are disclosed in your contract before you enroll. Review your contract terms carefully. You may switch back to your utility's standard offer or to another supplier, subject to the early termination terms of your selected plan.
What do I need to enroll?
Your service address and contact information. Your utility account number is optional but can speed up the switch by 1–2 days — you can find it on any recent utility bill. No credit check is required for residential enrollment.
How long does the switch take?
Typically one full billing cycle — about 2 to 4 weeks from enrollment. Your current rate remains in effect until the switch is complete. You will receive a confirmation from both EEXM and your utility once the transfer is processed.
What is a "price-to-compare" or standard offer rate?
The price-to-compare (PTC) is the utility's default supply rate — what you currently pay if you have never switched suppliers. It is set by the state utility commission and updated periodically. The rates EEXM sources from the competitive market are priced below the current PTC for each utility, which is how we deliver immediate savings.
What happens when my contract term ends?
You will receive a renewal notice before your term expires. You can renew at a new fixed rate, switch to a different plan, or return to your utility's standard offer. We will contact you proactively to review your options before your contract ends.
